All is not well with your local government.
It seems to have become the ambition of everyone with political power to reward their cronies at everyone else's expense. Loot the public and divide the spoils.
They do it under the guise of stimulating the economy. The problem is that government isn't smart enough to know and shouldn't have the power to decide which segments of the economy prosper at other's expense. Free people make those decisions in a market economy.
Obamanomics doesn't work for the country and doesn't work for the community. Here's a better idea: Get government out of the way! Dismantle the bureaucracy and give freedom, responsibility, and prosperity back to the people!
Mayor Blad wants to stimulate the building industry (of which his business is a part). That's what the geniuses in Washington D.C. did and created the housing bubble that burst, stimulating the Great Recession. This is also the same Mayor who recently appointed Steve Brown to the City Council.
Steve Brown is one of the local chief RINOs and chief apologists for Big Spender Simpson. He's on Congressman Simpson's tax-paid payroll managing constituent services (aka: government favors) in his Pocatello office. Now he's also a Councilman on the city's tax-paid payroll, but there's no conflict of interest here.
Fiscally irresponsible, Big Government Republicans, including our Congressman and his cheerleaders, abandoned the idea free market economics in favor of bailouts and other reckless spending, and set the stage for the Democratic destruction of capitalism.
Now we have D.C. idiocy invading our local government with policies that lead to equal poverty for all. Everyone would be better off if the Tea Party invaded our local government with policies that lead to equal liberty for all.
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read:
- You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
- What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
- The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
- When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
- You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
